Aldersgate Ward Club

Our Master and fellow Ward members and guests had a very good time at the Ward Club’s Christmas party on the 14th December.  Sixteen of us gathered in the welcoming reception room of the City University Club in the early evening of a chilly day and started our Christmas celebrations with a glass or two of fizz and the pleasure of each other’s company. 

 Having got into the party spirit, we moved upstairs to the elegant dining room on the first floor, and ate the Club’s own smoked salmon, roast turkey with all the trimmings and homemade warm frangipane pear tart.  All completely delicious and all accompanied by good wine and good conversation.  We had the usual crackers, accompanied by the usual appallingly bad jokes, and everyone took home a small present, to get us in the Christmas mood.
