Aldersgate Ward club annual Civic lunch
This year saw 112 members and their guests arriving to enjoy the Civic lunch in the splendid surroundings of the Guildhall Livery Hall. The guest of honour was Sheriff Christopher Hayward CC accompanied by his charming wife Alexandra.
After enjoying a pre lunch drinks reception, a carefully crafted menu comprising of Sea Bass and wild mushroom saffron sauce, Roast Beef Sirloin and seasonal vegetables, followed by Caramelised Apple and Pineapple served with mango sorbet.
Concluding his welcome speech the Master was delighted to present a donation from the Club to the Sheriffs and Recorders Fund, a charity which provides grants and support to ex-offenders. In responding Chris Hayward spoke of the role played by the Sheriffs in Civic life and he commended the Club on the service provided to the City Corporation by a number of our members. The convivial atmosphere continued after lunch when members were able to mingle further and reflect on a most enjoyable afternoon
